From November 17th to 20th 2019, the 24th annual meeting of China South-South Cooperation Network (CSSCN) was held in Fuzhou City, Fujian Province. CICETE Director General Yan Dong attended the meeting and delivered an opening speech.
The theme of this year’s meeting is “South-South cooperation promotes knowledge sharing, capacity building and technology transfer”. A report of the CSSCN in 2019 was presented at the meeting. All participants presented opinion on opportunities, advantages and challenges for South-South Cooperation. In the meantime, heated discussions were also held at the meeting on how to participate in international development cooperation more extensively and deeply within the framework of South-South cooperation.
In his closing statement, Yan Dong, on behalf of CICETE, expressed his appreciation to the member institutions for their effort and support to promote South-South cooperation and expressed that CICETE would continue to support CSSCN through GSSDC project and other related projects, helping all member institutions actively expand South-South and triangular partnerships to make contributions to the realization of 2030 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by China and other developing countries.
The meeting saw an attendance of more than 60 participants from UNOSSC, UNIDO, WFP, CSSCN member institutions and other collaborating partners. In addition, the 1st project steering committee meeting on GSSDC and 4 thematic workshops on South-South Cooperation were held during the annual meeting period.
