Educational Experience

Xu Xiuli got her PhD degree at China Agricultural University (CAU) and became a staff member of the College of Humanities and Development Studies (COHD), CAU in 2004. She has been a visiting scholar to the University of Cambridge, and IDS.

work Experience

She is a professor of China Agricultural University. She is a key member of China International Development Research Network (CIDRN) and Network of Southern Think Tanks (NeST).  She is the first author of a series of articles on China’s aid and overseas investment published on top journals such as World Development, World Economics and Politics. She has broad international collaboration with development partners such as the UNOSSC, WB, UNDP, IDRC and DFID. She is the initiator of the public knowledge platform: IDT (International Development Times) disseminating frontier debates about development studies in China and beyond.
